Just after leaving Argens- Minervois, we went through the Argens lock, the last lock on the Canal du Midi for 54 km. Known as the Long Pond, we will meander along a plateau through vineyards and small towns. First stop today was Paraza, to visit the Chateau de Paraza and sample the local wine.
Arriving at La Somail after a 15 km day, we found a great mooring and a delightful town with art galleries and a huge bookstore of used books.
We also found our first floating grocery, Tomata, where we reserved fresh bread and croissants for pick-up in the morning!
